Exports
Exports land in the exports folder of Lothal’s data folder, except the config sheet, which goes
to sheets. When an export finishes, the status readout names the file, and Lothal opens the folder
so you can see it arrive. See Where files live.
| Export | Where to find it | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Print sheet (SVG, 1:1) | Frame designer, Export (or Print to open it straight away) | Print at 100% and lay the real parts on it to check sizes before you cut. |
| Cut sheet (SVG, nested) | Frame designer, Export | The plates laid out together for cutting. |
| Cut file (DXF) | Frame designer, Export | Send to a CNC router or laser-cutting service. |
| Assembly (STL) | Frame designer, Export | Open the assembled frame in another 3D program. |
| Build sheet (HTML: parts, hardware, cost) | Frame designer, Export | A printable page listing every plate, screw and standoff, an assembly order and a cutting cost range from placeholder rates. See the aside below. |
| Motor mount stack (STL) | Propulsion → Motors, Export mount stack (STL)… | Check how the motor, pad and spacers stack up. |
| Prop guard (STL) | Propulsion → Prop guards, Export guard (STL)… | Print four. |
| One printed part (STL) | Printed, the part’s Export STL… | Slice and print. |
| All printed parts (STL) | Project menu, Export printed parts… | Slice and print. Each is also stored in the drone’s .lothal file with a record that it was printed. |
| Config sheet (Markdown) | Config → Sheet, Export sheet | Open at the bench while you set up the flight controller. |
STL files are in millimetres. A part whose shape is not a closed solid is refused, and the message names it, rather than written as a file a slicer would choke on.
The project menu’s Export build sheet… is greyed in this version; use the config sheet.
