Short version: Lothal has no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry. Your drones, logs and settings stay on your computer. The app makes one network request, a check for a newer version.
The app
Section titled “The app”What stays on your computer. Everything Lothal writes: your drones, frames, blades, exports, config sheets, flight recordings and settings. They are saved in Lothal’s data folder (see Where files live) and are never uploaded.
The one network request: the update check. Once per launch, a few seconds after it starts,
Lothal requests a small file, https://dl.meetdev.in/latest.json, that says what the newest
version is. The request carries no account, no identifier, and nothing about you or your
drones. Like any web request, the server that answers it (served through Cloudflare) can see
your IP address, the time, and a standard user-agent string naming the Godot engine and your
operating system. If the check fails, for example because you are offline, nothing happens.
If a newer version exists, Lothal shows a bar. It never downloads anything by itself.
Links you choose to open. Contact us opens this website, and Open download page on the update bar opens the release page, in your own browser. Nothing is sent until you click.
This website
Section titled “This website”This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other websites: no fonts, no scripts. Search runs entirely in your browser.
The one exception is the demo video on the home page. Until you press play it is a picture
served from this site, and nothing is fetched from YouTube. Pressing play loads YouTube’s
player from youtube-nocookie.com, and from then on YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to
that video.
Your browser’s local storage keeps your light or dark theme choice, so the site remembers it. It never leaves your browser.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As the host, Cloudflare receives the usual information any website’s server receives, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages.
